During the ultrasonic operation, nothing may be placed on the bottom of the bath, as abrasion may occur between the material to be sonicated and the ultrasonic bath. It is therefore recommended to use a suitable basket to hold the material to be sonicated. The BANDELIN baskets are designed in such a way that the material to be treated is always within the optimum range of the cavitation field (1-2 cm from the floor) in the ultrasonic bath. With the help of a basket, the material to be sonicated can also be conveniently placed in the unit and removed after operation, e.g. for rinsing, without the user coming into contact with the sonication liquid in the ultrasonic bath.
