5052 Salinity Meter for Seawater

The Apera Instruments 5052 Salinity Meter is designed for easy and reliable salinity measurements in aquariums, aquaculture and environmental monitoring. Apera Instruments' unique platinum-coated electrode with automatic temperature compensation (ATC) ensures accuracy and precision of measurement results over a wide range - an accuracy of ±1.5% of full scale in 0 to 100 ppt (=100,000 ppm).

• Reliable salinity measurements in seawater (compared to hydrometer and refractometer). Sampling is not required. Simply immerse the meter in salt water and get stable readings in 10 seconds. No rinsing required between each measurement.
• Regular calibration is not required - calibrating the meter once every month provides reliable results. The calibration solution is included in the set.

Technical Specifications

Note: The Apera 5052 meter measures practical salinity (NOT absolute salinity) converted from conductivity using the Practical Salinity Scale 1978(PSS-78) and is standardized against normal standard seawater (S=35), which is accurately calibrated in conductivity ratio (K15). PSS-78 is recommended by all oceanographic organizations as a benchmark for reporting salinity data.
